The bronze sculpture "Legacy of Leadership" by artist Alan Collins is framed by black maple trees as it faces east October 4, 2012, in front of Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University in Berrien Springs. The sculpture portrays John Nevins Andrews, the first official Adventist missionary, and his two children as they wait in Boston for the ship that would take them to Europe and mission service.
