Two-year-old Maxwell White, from Royalton Township, tries on a junior firefighter hat Tuesday, August 2, 2011, during the 28th Annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event held at Riverview Park. Area police, fire and emergency departments gathered to showcase crime prevention programs as well as to improve relationships between law enforcement and the public. Locally, the event is sponsored by the St. Joseph, St. Joseph Township and Lincoln Township police departments, St. Joseph Neighborhood Watch, Sherman Ice Cream and Target.
