Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Seventeen miles west of the lights of Las Vegas Red Rock Canyon offers almost 200,000 acres of desert landscape featuring a variety of geological features, a 13-mile scenic drive, 30 miles of hiking trails as well as rock climbing and horseback riding. More than one million people each year visit this amazing national conservation area so if you get a chance, rent a convertible and make the drive. You will not regret it.

Busy weeks ahead.

I've been swamped at work the last few weeks and have finally had a chance to post just a few images from past assignments. With the recent heavy snow and wind chills around -30 it's nice to have an assignment inside once in awhile and the students at Stewart Elementary School in Stevensville and their Historical Wax Museum always make for fun pics.

It Continues Part II

I always keep my eye out for unusual ice formations during winter and the ice shelf that forms along Lake Michigan always makes for great pics. I know a lot of people complain about this time of year, but give me this over the classic sunset any day. We had our first significant snowfall the other week and although everyone complains about the snow we've been lucky this season. It's approaching the end of January and temps are still above freezing so we'll keep our fingers crossed.
